Carlos Gomez | Community Works Manager

Carlos Gomez, Salt + Light’s Outreach Coordinator, is a Central Valley native from Bakersfield, CA, and now lives in Visalia with his wife, Nicole, and their walker hound, Hazel Nut. With family ties spanning Springville, CA, Spain, El Salvador, and Los Angeles, Carlos values community and connection.

He holds degrees in Psychology and Sociology, along with a certification in Permaculture Design, reflecting his passion for understanding human behavior and promoting sustainable living.

Carlos leads Salt + Light's food truck program, Everyone Eats Today, fostering connections and nurturing a sense of belonging among neighbors. Before joining Salt + Light, he gained experience in community outreach and sustainable farming, including spearheading an Agroecology Program in Fresno, helping farmworker families establish chemical-free farms.

Carlos was drawn to Salt + Light for its shared values and commitment to creating lasting community impact. He says, “I’m here because I share Salt + Light’s values. It’s a great opportunity to serve our community in ways that create lasting impact, and I love how our values are reflected in the meaningful work we do together.”

Fun fact: I like growing plants from cuttings and sharing them with people.
